Regional Youth Circuit

Final Report
The Regional Youth Circuit this past season was a huge success in many areas and a great learning experience for many in other areas. I have compiled a detailed breakdown of each of the tournaments and a general overview of all of them so that we may improve on last years shortcomings.

As you can see from the overall calculations the southern region of Texas (including Houston) accounted for 85% of the total entries this year. Followed by the northern region of the state (including Oklahoma and El Paso) accounted for only 9% and all other entries total to 6%.

The turnout by the two northern hosting clubs accounted for a mere 7% of all RYC entries. Hosting clubs should have a better showing in the overall standings. This percent shows that not only did these clubs not send athletes to the other tournaments but they also did not support their own tournaments with a strong showing.

Taking into consideration that this season may have been a fluke or a transition for these clubs they will be allowed to host a RYC tournament this season. However, if they do not increase the turnout of their own clubs to all the tournaments for this upcoming RYC season I will suggest that they be dropped from the hosting clubs for the follow season at the Sectional Meeting this year until they can substantiate there re-admittance.

In the case that they are dropped from next years roster. I will suggest that the three southern clubs be allowed to host up to two RYC tournaments the following year to make up the difference or allow another club to host a RYC.

Hopefully that will not be the case and the turnout will improve.

Last year a few clubs did not follow the guidelines as I would have liked them to. It makes everything at the tournament and after run smother when they are followed. I tried to make them easy to understand and follow. For this season I will be calling each hosting club prior to the tournament to run through all the guidelines.

Please review the guidelines for the 1999-2000 season. If there are any questions or concerns please contact me.
